time for yourself

Do you take enough time for yourself? With kids in tow (or maybe your kids are the furry kind) life, work, friends, errands, meetings and the stresses of every sometimes seems to be flying by at the speed or light! Do you ever feel like you're missing it? Like you wish you could hit a 'pause' button for just a little bit or slow it all down. This nagging feeling of needing a few more hours in the day....that you're here, but are consumed in the every day doings of life, you sometimes miss enjoying it, or as Eckhart Tolle said, being in the present?

This is for you (and me)! A reminder to slow down....smell the flowers and just be.

I sat yesterday, looking through a few cookbooks for some ideas for dinner and decided to make a indulging session out of it. So, I made myself a cup of my favorite tea, Earl Grey with milk & sugar and kicked back front of the fire. Doesn't sound like much, but it was really nice & needed!

  1. I take my relaxing time every morning with a cup of coffee and either surf my favorite sites or watch Martha. Sometimes I do it all at the same time!

  2. Sounds divine! With 4 little ones and 1 big little one (hubby!), my down time comes at the end of the day when everyone is in bed and the house is still. Love, love, love some homemade hot chocolate with a splash of decaf creme brule, my luxe throw, fuzzy jammies, and a good book :)

  3. I never take time for myself because there's always something to do! When I get stressed, I just do more and end up making myself sick..I've got to slow down...

  4. Workaholic. Takes one to know one. I think it should be one of our new years resolutions, to take time for ourselves each day...whether it be with a cup of coffee or your favorite hot chocolate.
